Program Benefits

There are a number of key benefits that make Citizenship by Investment in Cyprus an extremely attractive option.

Applications for Cypriot citizenship by investment are notoriously swift, taking around 4-6 months, with a simultaneous residency application.

Successful applicants can then take advantage of EU membership, with the right to live, work, study and purchase property anywhere in the EU.

Families are welcome as attachments to the programme, with options for parents to gain citizenship through a stake in a residential property tied to the main applicant, and civil unions are welcome as joint applications.

Applicants to the programme are not required to relinquish their original nationality, nor are there any language requirements. One physical visit to Cyprus is required every seven years.

There are four investment options for those applying for citizenship in Cyprus. You can invest in real estate, businesses, financial assets or a combination investment.

€2 million

REAL ESTATE

Real estate investment must be retained at its minimum level of €2 million for three years. After this, the amount can be reduced to €500,000 in a residential property with an indefinite tenure.

The €2 million amount can be invested in a single property or multiple purchases, so long as the three-year minimum is met, and the reduced amount of €500,000 is held indefinitely after the 3 years.

BUSINESS INVESTMENT

For business investment, the minimum amount is also €2 million, to be channelled into the purchase of, establishment or participation in businesses within Cyprus.

The physical requirements for business investment are that the company is based and operating within Cyprus, with a minimum of five EU or Cypriot citizens being employed by the company.

FINANCIAL ASSETS OR ORGANIZATIONS

The financial asset investment option is also open at a minimum level of €2 million, as long as the assets are attached to Cypriot companies, and the assets are retained for a minimum period of three years.

Asset types for investment include bonds, securities and long-term securities / debentures, registered within Cyprus.

There is also the option of investing in a combination of real estate, business and financial assets, to a total value of €2 million.

There are no restrictions on proportions as long as the amount equals or exceeds the €2 million minimum.
